Our Process

At Prelim Systems, we make the process of notice preparation simple and hassle-free so you can focus on your business without worrying about your lien rights. Just send us your request and let us do the work for you. Notices are completed in 3-5 days, but can be completed as a Rush in 1-2 days.

  • Send Your Request

When a request is received, it is entered into our database and prioritized by the job’s start date, paying strict attention to California’s 20-day requirement.  Once in our database, you’ll be sent an email confirmation, letting you know the job is in process.

  • We Verify the Job Information

Next we begin the job verification and researching process.  We verify the job information (owner, GC, lender) for your prelim notice through multiple databases (Real Quest, infoUSA, county assessors, CSLB, etc.), and emails or phone calls to appropriate parties.

  • Job Information Receives Final Review

Once all information is gathered and has been confirmed and checked for discrepancies, the job request gets turned in to our data entry supervisor for a final review.  Once reviewed, we will process the completed preliminary notice.

  • Prelim Notices are Serviced via Certified Mail

Completed preliminary notices are printed and mailed via certified mail, receiving a date-stamped receipt for proof of mailing and requiring a signature from the recipient once delivered.  We keep the date-stamped postal sheets and original notes for one and a half years, which will be made available upon your request.  This documentation will be important should the need arise to record a Mechanic’s Lien.

  • Completed Prelim and Lien Waivers Sent to You

After mailing, a copy of the completed preliminary notice will be emailed to you along with the corresponding lien release waivers, if desired.
